Baby Portrait Final Update

Well, here it is....finished....I gave the very best that I am at this time capable of. This portrait was a valuable learning experience for me and hopefully some of you can draw inspiration from it. I might touch it up in a few days once I look at it with fresh eyes. ;o )

Award Premio Meme

This blog award was given to me by Myrarte, a very special and talented artist. Please check out her blog and see her absolutely charming doll paintings.
The rules are to list 7 things about yourself and then pass the award on to 7 other artists.

7 things about me that you don't know are:

~ I love Jesus with all of who I am and He is my love, peace, light and salvation.
~ I am a survivor.
~ I am 49 for only one more month...yikes
~ I am German, husband is American, our future daughter is Chinese.
~ I love animals and wanted to work in a Zoo taking care of baby Gorillas, when I was a child.
~ I like the mountains but live close to the beach.
~ Oh yeah, I really like Art books.

This award is passed on to in no particular order:

1) Dors Art a wonderful graphite artist and person who's work I think is great.

2) Teresa check out her recent painting of "Blue girl" it is just lovely.

3) Kary-Ann who's pet portraits are always so gorgeous and I feel inspired every time I look at her art.

4) Jan Gibson who is a wonderful pet artist who does commissions. She works in pastel, watercolor, quache. Great stuff, check her out.

5) Teresa Mallen who is not only a terrific person, but exceptional color pencil artist and teacher. She has a free newsletter every month for cp artists which is worth subscribing too. Make sure and check out her blog, it's loaded with good info all the way through.

6) Jeanette who is a very talented color pencil artist.

7) and last but definitely not least Vic who's art is outstanding always. She has a "Art in Pink" post which I would like to point too especially right now for you to read.

Baby Portrait Update

Here is a little update, just so you know I am working ;o ) About 25 + hours in and it's starting to take shape, although the contour modeling is not finished yet. I am just so slow, it's not even funny. Need to work on my speed a bit, but usually when I speed up my strokes it gets messy and that's not pretty. OK, back to work. Update coming soon.
